Construction Site Landslide in Skopje Traps Three Workers

Skopje, 24.04.2026 – A landslide occurred today at a construction site on “Kozjak” street in Skopje, resulting in three construction workers becoming trapped underground. The incident occurred during foundation excavation work. At approximately 08:17, the Sector for Internal Works – Skopje reported the entrapment.

Two of the workers were successfully rescued and transported to the “Mother Teresa” Clinic complex via ambulance. Emergency services responded immediately following a call received at 08:14 concerning the trapped individuals and construction materials located at “Kozjak” street no. 3 in Skopje.

The Crisis Management Center and the Fire Brigade are currently coordinating efforts to safely extract the remaining worker. Police confirmed the incident and stated that activities are ongoing to secure the site and facilitate the rescue. No further details regarding the condition of the workers were immediately available.

The investigation into the cause of the landslide is underway.
