Kosovo Customs Identifies Discrepancies in Shipment Examination, Leading to €29,000 Fine

Prizren – Officials from the ZBD Prizren conducted an inspection of a shipment presented for examination on behalf of a subject, resulting in the identification of inaccuracies and a subsequent customs offense. The examination, carried out during the standard inspection process, included verification of the shipment’s origin, quantity, description, and other key characteristics. According to information released by Kosovo Customs, discrepancies were found regarding the naming of goods, leading to a difference in the declared value of the shipment totaling approximately €29,000.

“Based on these findings, the actions constitute a customs offense according to Article 244 (paragraph 1.2) of the Customs Code No. 08/L‑247 — submission of a declaration with inaccurate or incomplete data and insufficient description of goods,” a statement from Kosovo Customs noted. The investigation followed a thorough examination of the goods and documentation.

The Customs continues to monitor and enforce regulations to ensure accurate declarations and prevent illicit trade. This incident highlights the importance of accurate information during customs inspections.
