EU provides military equipment worth 40 million euros to the North Macedonia Army

The European Union has committed to providing €40 million in military equipment to the North Macedonian Army. The transfer of this materiel was officially promoted at the “Ilinden” barracks in Skopje, marking a significant aspect of the ongoing cooperation between the two entities. This substantial aid is channeled through the European Peace Facility.

The supplied equipment is structured across three distinct packages. To date, components from the first package, along with a portion of the second, have already been delivered. The initial consignment includes a diverse range of advanced military technology, such as various types of radars, thermal cameras, vehicles, simulators, 3D radars, and portable sensors.

The third package is slated to deliver further essential support, focusing specifically on logistics, communication infrastructure, and specialized equipment for infantry units. The presentation ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Christian Mikoski and the Minister of Defence, Vlado Misa, underscoring the high level of governmental support for the modernization of the country’s defense capabilities. The EU’s provision of this military equipment aims to enhance the operational readiness and defense posture of the North Macedonian armed forces.

This support package represents a tangible commitment from the EU, bolstering regional stability through the provision of necessary military assets.
