Ferrari will replace the steering wheel controls with actual buttons.

Ferrari has addressed a significant customer complaint following a previous design choice. Almost a year ago, the manufacturer acknowledged an error related to the SF90 launch. Initially, Ferrari aimed to maximize technological integration within the hybrid supercar, selecting touch-sensitive buttons for the steering wheel instead of traditional physical controls.

This decision was met with considerable disapproval from owners. The negative reactions compelled Ferrari to swiftly reverse course, reverting to physical buttons on the Amalfi’s steering wheel. Now, the company has announced a crucial upgrade for existing models, mirroring this change.

Ferrari of Atlantis revealed last week that they can now retrofit genuine buttons into the Purosangue and 12Cylinder steering wheels. The necessary component for this improvement is the section encompassing all the controls. Importantly, the upgrade can be implemented without requiring owners to send their vehicles back to Italy for repair.

The airbag cover remains unaltered during this process. This demonstrates Ferrari’s commitment to customer satisfaction and refining the design of their steering systems.
