LSDM Leader Accuses Government of Budget Crisis
Skopje – Venko Filipçe, leader of the LSDM party, held a press conference today, asserting that the current state budget is facing a serious crisis. He claims that the government has already spent approximately 63% of the projected annual deficit within the first three months of the budget’s implementation, suggesting an impending budget collapse. Filipçe stated that revenue collection has only reached around 20% of the targeted amount.
“This significant deficit hole,” he explained, “indicates a reliance on new borrowing.”
According to data from the Ministry of Finance, during the first quarter, a new debt of 700 million euros was incurred. Filipçe emphasized that this figure represents additional debt created under the current administration. “According to official data from the Ministry of Finance as of April 30th,” he continued, “this demonstrates that Mickoski has created an additional new debt of 700 million euros since the beginning of his term.”
The statement highlights concerns regarding the government’s fiscal management and the projected need for further borrowing to cover budgetary shortfalls.
