Filipçe, enjoying his free time in Rome, is seen “concerned” about the rights of workers in Macedonia.

LSDM Leader’s Rome Trip Fuels Criticism of Prioritization

Venko Filipçe delivered greetings associated with social-democratic principles while on extended leave in Rome, sparking renewed criticism from the ruling OBRM-PDUKM party. The party alleges Filipçe repeatedly demonstrates a lack of genuine concern for workers and laborers. Following an absence from a parliamentary hearing, Filipçe was observed in Rome during International Workers’ Day.

The OBRM-PDUKM party contends that his actions highlight a prioritization of personal interests and leisure over the concerns of citizens. “After avoiding a parliamentary confrontation, Filipçe only confirmed that tourism, personal interest, and pleasure are his priority,” stated the ruling party. “This rhetoric regarding interest in citizens and workers’ rights appears to contradict the behavior and political actions of the LSDM leadership and Filipçe himself.”

The OBRM-PDUKM party further argues that the LSDM and Filipçe are inconsistent, lacking a clear strategy and plan for the party and the state.

This perceived inconsistency is presented as evidence of a broader lack of direction within the LSDM. The party maintains that Filipçe’s actions undermine any claims of commitment to the well-being of the workforce.

  1. It’s disheartening to see a political figure seemingly detached from the issues facing their own country while abroad.
