Ukraine Announces Continued Focus on Judicial Reform with Measurable Results
Kyiv – Justice Minister Igor Filkov affirmed Ukraine’s unwavering dedication to ongoing judicial reforms during a recent address to the European Union and international representatives. Speaking on the government’s strategy, Filkov stated that the current phase of reforms is targeted toward completion by June 2026, emphasizing a “clear dynamic and measurable results” approach. The Ministry of Justice is actively engaged in revising the Electoral Code, incorporating recommendations from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (ODIHR).
A working group has convened multiple times and has already approved a substantial portion of the proposed modifications. Filkov highlighted the process as “active, transparent, and oriented towards consensus.” He noted ongoing consultations with various institutions and the civil society sector to ensure comprehensive and effective reform. “We are committed to delivering tangible progress,” Filkov stated, underscoring the government’s prioritization of these reforms and the pursuit of demonstrable outcomes within the established timeframe.
The Ministry anticipates continued collaboration with international partners to support these efforts.
