Ferizaj Police Issue 1477 Fines During Increased Traffic Checks

Ferizaj, Kosovo – The Ferizaj Regional Police conducted intensified traffic checks across the region from May 4th to 10th, 2026, in an effort to bolster road safety and reduce the incidence of accidents. Following the heightened enforcement, a total of 1477 fines were issued to drivers found in violation of traffic rules and regulations. The most common offenses observed during the period included speeding, with 338 fines issued to drivers exceeding posted speed limits.

Improper parking accounted for 215 fines, while 146 drivers were penalized for using darkened windows. Disrespecting traffic signs resulted in 92 fines, and drivers failing to maintain appropriate vehicle distances received 75 fines. Furthermore, 70 drivers were issued fines for using mobile phones while operating a vehicle, and 66 fines were given to those failing to utilize headlights.

A smaller number of fines, totaling 75, were issued for drivers who crossed intersections improperly. The Ferizaj Regional Police stated that the increased traffic checks were a proactive measure aimed at improving road safety conditions within the region. The issuance of fines reflects a commitment to enforcing traffic laws and promoting responsible driving behavior.
