Following the completion of a 30-day fast during ramadan and the joyous celebration of Fitr Bayram, a significant number of Kosovar citizens have opted to travel to numerous cities within Albania for the weekend. Many individuals, both in organized groups and independently, have journeyed towards coastal towns. The increased movement at the Albanian-Kosovo border crossing is attributable to more than just the end of ramadan.
The noticeable improvement in weather conditions this Thursday, a stark contrast to the conditions of two days prior, has also played a key role. For a group of young people originating from Pristina, Tirana presents the most appealing opportunities for weekend leisure and entertainment. Furthermore, movements have been observed in the opposite direction, with individuals travelling towards Kosovo from Albania.
Border police have reported a substantial surge in crossings, with over 13 thousand recorded in the last 24 hours. This indicates a widespread desire for travel following the religious observances and the favorable weather conditions.
