Peja Police Arrest Suspect in Alleged Fraud Scheme
Peja, Kosovo – The Peja police have apprehended an individual suspected of engaging in fraudulent activity related to municipal housing allocations. According to authorities, the suspect is accused of falsifying emblems, signatures, and seals belonging to the Peja municipality. Investigations revealed the individual contacted numerous residents of Peja, offering promises of apartments designated for social cases by the municipality.
As part of the alleged scheme, the suspect demanded a payment of 800 euros, claiming this sum was necessary to initiate the legal processes required for apartment acquisition. The Regional Police Directorate, Station in Peja, confirmed the arrest on April 30, 2026. The suspect is currently under investigation for the criminal offense of “Fraud.”
