From food to metal – Ajvazi reveals which sectors are keeping the Kosovo economy alive

The food industry continues to function as the primary pillar of Kosovo’s production, according to Kushtrim Ajvazi, President of the Kosovo Producers Association (OEK). During a discussion on the “Përballje Podcast,” Ajvazi outlined the key sectors supporting the nation’s manufacturing industry. He noted that the food sector demonstrates consistent growth and is becoming increasingly competitive against imported goods.

“The food industry continues to have good development and is replacing imports, competing in both quality and price,” Ajvazi stated to Telegrafi. Furthermore, Ajvazi identified several areas exhibiting significant potential for both domestic development and export expansion. These promising sectors include wood processing, plastics, services, and the metalworking industry.

The overall assessment suggests a diversified economic landscape where the established food production remains robust.
