Kosovo Official Commends Firefighters on International Firefighters’ Day

Prishtina, Kosovo – Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, voiced her appreciation for firefighters during the observance of International Firefighters’ Day. Haxhiu emphasized the critical role these professionals play in emergency response situations. Speaking on behalf of the President, Haxhiu described firefighters as “the people of the first minutes,” acknowledging their immediate response to crises.

She highlighted their consistent willingness to confront danger, stating that while others may retreat, firefighters actively pursue saving lives and protecting property. “In situations such as explosions, floods, or accidents, as well as rescue operations, firefighters are where decisive action is paramount,” Haxhiu explained. “Their work demands both significant courage and unwavering discipline.”

The Deputy Head expressed gratitude for the firefighters’ daily readiness and their invaluable contribution to the safety and well-being of Kosovo’s citizens.
