Haziri: Kosovo was penalized at the NATO Summit due to a lack of institutional stability

Following the recent NATO Summit held in Ankara, Lutfi Haziri, Deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), issued a statement assessing the implications of Kosovo not receiving an official invitation to the gathering. Haziri asserted that the omission was a direct consequence of internal political instability within the nation. In his remarks, Haziri stated that the absence of an invitation signaled a systemic issue, noting, “Kosovo was penalized at the NATO Summit in Ankara.

Undoubtedly, the non-receipt of the invitation was a consequence of the lack of institutional stability.” He further contrasted the rapidly evolving global environment with the domestic situation in Kosovo. Haziri remarked that while international developments are progressing quickly, Kosovo continues to grapple with internal political crises, suggesting a divergence between global momentum and national governance. He described the current state as trapping the country in what he termed a “closed, vicious circle with a political crisis.”

The statement concluded with a call for greater introspection and cooperation among all political stakeholders.

Haziri emphasized that meaningful progress for Kosovo requires a concerted effort toward internal reconciliation and stability. The core message conveyed by Haziri is that addressing the underlying institutional deficiencies is prerequisite to improving the international standing and engagement of Kosovo.
