The Director General of the Health Insurance Fund, Sasho Klekovski, issued a directive emphasizing that all pharmacies are obligated to dispense drugs listed on the positive formulary when a valid prescription is presented. Speaking during a press conference at the Government, Klekovski stressed the necessity of adherence to these guidelines for consistent health service delivery. Klekovski specifically addressed the mandate, stating, “Every drug on the positive list must be dispensed by prescription.” He concurrently announced an expansion to the positive list, which now incorporates three new anticoagulant medications: enoxaparin, nadroparin, and rivaroxaban.
In response to questions from journalists, the Director General also called upon the public to report any instances where a pharmacy refuses to dispense a drug covered by the list despite receiving a prescription. Citizens are advised to submit these reports to the fund through an informational email or dedicated information form. This directive reinforces the regulatory framework governing medication access within the country’s healthcare system.
The emphasis on reporting aims to ensure that the public can reliably access necessary medications as outlined by the established health guidelines. The announcement underscores the continued effort by the governing body to maintain transparency and strict compliance across all dispensing points connected to the national health insurance fund.
