During the visit, a delegation observed the joint communications exercise involving both the Iowa Air and Ground National Guard components. The group included Brigadier General Mark Muckey, Deputy Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, along with Commanders Sara Orwig and Jason Lehmann.

Their observation focused on the collaborative communications efforts of the Iowa National Guard. Furthermore, the delegation engaged in meetings and exchanges with military leaders from the Kosovo Security Force. These interactions are part of the enduring partnership established between Iowa and Kosovo through the State Partnership Program.

The primary objective of the “Sentinel Sica” exercise is to enhance interoperability and operational readiness. By participating in joint training, the Iowa National Guard solidifies its commitment to supporting international security objectives alongside its partner forces. The exercises provide a platform for knowledge sharing and refining tactical capabilities between the Iowa National Guard and the KSF, thereby strengthening regional stability and mutual defense cooperation.
