Janevska: Changes to the Early Childhood Education Law will result in penalties for parents of students who engage in violence.

Albanian Minister Janevska Urges Parental Involvement Following School Stabbing

Cento, Albania – Following a recent incident of physical violence at the “25 May” primary school, where a 15-year-old student was injured by a sharp object, Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, has emphasized the crucial role of parents in preventing future occurrences. The incident prompted a call for heightened vigilance from families. Janevska stated that the state is committed to taking all necessary measures within its authority to address the situation.

However, she stressed that parental involvement is equally vital to the ongoing process. “Children do not find cold weapons at school; they find them outside,” Janevska explained. “Therefore, cooperation with all sectors affected is necessary.

But I urge and request parents to pay attention to their children.”

Janevska underscored that despite the state’s efforts, success hinges on a collaborative approach. “Despite what the entire state does, if parents are not involved, we cannot achieve success,” she added. The Ministry of Education and Science is working with local authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and implement preventative measures.

Janevska reiterated the importance of a coordinated response involving schools, law enforcement, and families.
