Jashari: The idea of the Albanian Academy is old, it was initiated by Fadil Sulejmani.

Albanian Academic Society Chairman Addresses Academy Proposal

Tirana – The Chairman of the Albanian Academic Society, Hasan Jashari, addressed recent discussions surrounding the establishment of the Albanian Academy of Sciences. Jashari clarified that the concept of creating the academy is not a novel one, and the initial suggestion originated with Fadil Sulejmani, the first professor and rector of Tetovo University. Speaking on “Shenja,” Jashari stated that he first encountered the idea from Sulejmani.

He further noted that previous mentions of the academy’s formation by representatives of the VLEN coalition date back to November 2024. Despite receiving support during various periods, the process of establishing the institution has not proceeded as anticipated. Jashari highlighted the consistent support provided by the VLEN coalition, emphasizing their backing even following changes in leadership within the Albanian Parliament and Prime Minister’s office.

He indicated a sense of exclusion from key conversations regarding the academy’s development. The discussion centers around the future of the Albanian Academy of Sciences, with Hasan Jashari emphasizing the origins of the idea and outlining the challenges faced in its advancement.
