Kosovo is sleeping in the face of an economic crisis, according to the opposition who are demanding urgent measures.

Albanian political figure Besnik Tahiri has leveled serious criticism against the Kosovan Government, alleging a concerning lack of response to the escalating economic crisis and soaring prices. He contends that “Kosova is sleeping,” reflecting a perceived inaction within the nation. In a public statement disseminated via Facebook, Tahiri underscored the proactive steps being taken by neighboring countries and European entities to safeguard their citizens.

He argues that while others are implementing tangible solutions, Kosovo remains conspicuously behind. “The region acts, Europe intervenes, Kosovo why is it sleeping? The government urgently needs to take concrete measures to address this serious economic crisis and rising prices.

The situation is alarming,” he asserted. Tahiri provided specific examples to support his claims, pointing to initiatives undertaken in North Macedonia and Albania, where interventions are being prepared to mitigate price increases. He also referenced Spain’s already approved measures.

The overall sentiment expresses a deep concern for the well-being of Kosovan citizens and demands immediate, decisive action from the government to avert further deterioration of the situation in Kosovo.
