KRU “Prishtina” Reports Significant Debt, Citing Impact on Water Services
The Regional Water Supply Company “Prishtina” (KRU “Prishtina”) has issued a serious warning regarding a substantial increase in debt owed for water services. According to a recent statement, the company reports an outstanding balance of 45 million euros, attributed to unpaid bills. KRU “Prishtina” characterized this debt as “an avalanche built with non-payment, irresponsibility, and neglect,” emphasizing the potential consequences for the water supply system.
The company highlighted that these unpaid debts directly threaten planned investments and the continued provision of essential water services. “Each unpaid bill today is a faucet less tomorrow, a halted investment, a threatened service,” the statement read. KRU “Prishtina” stressed the critical importance of water as a vital service and the detrimental effects of non-payment.
The company asserted that individuals failing to pay their water bills are not conserving resources, but rather engaging in a form of theft that jeopardizes the future of the entire supply system. “Water is life, not a worthless commodity. Those who use it and do not pay are not saving money, they are stealing the future of everyone,” the statement concluded.
The KRU “Prishtina” is urging all consumers to fulfill their financial obligations to ensure the stability and sustainability of the water supply.
