Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti Pays Respects to Fallen Hero Ilaz Koçra
Prishtina, Kosovo – Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited the Memorial Complex of Heroes in the village of Marinë, Municipality of Skenderaj, on Tuesday to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the death of Ilaz Koçra. The event honored the life and sacrifice of the commander of Brigade 114 “Fehmi Lllovci,” a significant figure in the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK). During the visit, Kurti placed fresh flowers at the memorial, acknowledging Koçra’s contribution to the liberation war.
“Commander Ilaz Koçra fell heroically 27 years ago, precisely when he was on the verge of his 33rd birthday, defending the civilian population against Serbian enemy forces,” Kurti stated. He highlighted Koçra’s distinguished role as a commander within the UÇK and emphasized the enduring importance of his actions in Kosovo’s history. Kurti noted that Ilaz Koçra was comparable in his dedication and leadership.
The Prime Minister’s visit underscored the continued recognition of Koçra’s bravery and his impact on the nation.
