New Nature Protection Guard Established in Kosovo as Part of Earth Day Initiative
Kosovo’s Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning formalized a new initiative on Earth Day with the establishment of the Nature Protection Guard. The move, intended to bolster environmental protection efforts within the country, was marked by the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Ministers Fitore Pacolli and Xhelal Svecla. Prime Minister Albin Kurti, present at the signing ceremony, offered a brief comment regarding the agreement.
He stated he was “checking the text,” a remark interpreted as a standard procedural step before official endorsement. The newly formed Nature Protection Guard is expected to focus on monitoring and enforcement of environmental regulations. The establishment of the guard aligns with broader government efforts to promote sustainable practices and conservation within Kosovo.
The memorandum of cooperation highlights a collaborative approach between key ministries in addressing environmental concerns. Ministers Pacolli and Svecla emphasized the importance of this partnership in achieving long-term environmental goals. Prime Minister Kurti’s involvement underscores the government’s commitment to this initiative.
