LDK Denies Involvement in Bečić-PDH Agreement in Pristina
Pristina – The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) issued a statement yesterday, May 5th, 2026, to categorically deny any involvement in a proposed coalition agreement with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Bečić-PDH alliance in Pristina. The denial follows confirmation by Democratic Party of Kosovo Deputy Chairman Uran Ismaili, who spoke exclusively to Gazeta Express, that a coalition was being pursued for governance within the capital. In response, the LDK released a formal statement asserting that it had not participated in any inter-party processes related to a political coalition agreement.
The statement clarified that no agreement exists representing the official position of the LDK. “Any other agreement does not represent the official position of the Democratic League of Kosovo,” the statement read. “As such, it does not create obligations.”
The news comes amidst ongoing discussions regarding potential political alliances in Pristina.
The LDK’s clarification seeks to distance itself from the reported coalition and emphasizes its continued adherence to its established political strategy. The statement specifically addresses concerns regarding a potential agreement with the Bečić-PDH alliance, highlighting the LDK’s lack of participation in related negotiations.
