The LSDM has criticized the new ministerial appointments presented by Mickoski, questioning the substance of the changes. According to the LSDM, the restructuring appears to be more of a performance than a genuine governmental reform. They argued that the changes represent merely a superficial alteration of the existing administrative framework.
The party stated that while some ministers are changing and new names are being introduced, the core structure and key departments remain largely unchanged. Specifically, the LSDM pointed to ministries such as Internal Affairs, Defense, Finance, Foreign Affairs, and Education, asserting that the leadership in these crucial areas remains with the same individuals or entities. They suggested that the process is merely rearranging personnel to create an illusion of progress.
The LSDM characterized this action as a diversionary tactic. They contended that the government is attempting to redirect public attention away from significant national challenges, such as economic instability, budget deficits, and funding issues, including pension payments, as well as obstacles related to European connectivity. The party suggested that the announced “reconstruction” is intended to mask deeper systemic problems rather than address them substantively.
