Kosovo Police Seize Smuggled Goods in Ferizaj
The Kosovo Police announced the seizure of a significant quantity of smuggled goods in the city of Ferizaj on May 5, 2026, following an operation conducted by the Task Force – DRK South Unit. The operation targeted a suspected warehouse where illicit goods were believed to be stored. Police received information leading to the investigation, identifying a Kosovar man as the suspect.
Authorities allege the individual was utilizing the warehouse to store goods illegally imported from North Macedonia into Kosovo. Following a warrant issued by the competent prosecutor, a raid was executed at the suspected location. During the operation, approximately 800.4 kilograms of processed tobacco, 94 kilograms of honey, 30.4 kilograms of plastic packaging, and 178 kilograms of other goods were seized.
The police investigation is ongoing, and the suspect remains in custody. This operation highlights continued efforts by the Kosovo Police to combat smuggling activities within the region, particularly in areas like Ferizaj.
