Mushkolaj: It is very good that PDK does not accept the Initiative

Mushkolaj Attributes Calls for Extraordinary Elections to Political Interests

In a recent appearance on RTV Dukagjini’s “Debat Plus,” former Kosovo parliamentarian Imer Mushkolaj addressed ongoing discussions surrounding potential extraordinary elections within the country. Mushkolaj asserted that these conversations are largely driven by the personal interests of political actors, rather than genuine concerns of the electorate. Speaking critically of political parties, Mushkolaj stated that pledges made during such periods are superfluous.

He specifically referenced the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and its spokesperson, Vlora Çitaku, regarding their stance towards the Social Democratic Initiative led by Fatmir Limaj. Mushkolaj noted Çitaku’s position as “very good” in rejecting the Initiative. He further commented on his own political trajectory, describing instances where his actions appeared to serve external political interests.

“I, at a certain moment, cause damage to the party, I fulfill other political interests, now I return again,” he explained. Mushkolaj emphasized the importance of political programs being offered directly to citizens when individuals transition out of party affiliation. He concluded that transparency and a clear articulation of a candidate’s political vision are crucial for public engagement.

  1. “It’s concerning to hear Mushkolaj dismissing calls for elections as simply driven by political interests.”
