Osmani and Avdylin Participate in ‘Hasi Jehon’ Festival in Gjonaj

Kosovo – Deputy Prime Minister Vjosa Osmani and Deputy Haxhi Avdylin were present at the ‘Hasi Jehon’ festival in Gjonaj, a village within the Has region of Kosovo, on May 3, 2026. The event, celebrating traditional Hasi culture, involved the use of a dok, a traditional Albanian drum. Osmani documented the visit with a video shared on Facebook, stating, “We are in Gjonaj of Has – one of the most beautiful places in Kosovo.” She expressed happiness at joining the local Hasians and highlighted the significance of the festival.

Osmani emphasized Has’s historical role as a center for cultural preservation, noting that “Has has always listened to the voice – this voice has resonated through songs, dances, traditional clothing, and is one of the places where Albanian roots have always been protected.”

Avdylin, joining the visit, referred to the participants as “jerëz,” a term denoting the traditional culture of the Has region. The pair’s presence at the festival underscored continued engagement with local communities and the preservation of Kosovo’s diverse cultural heritage. The event showcased a key aspect of Hasian identity within the broader context of Albanian traditions.
