North Macedonia’s Osmani Urges European Support Amidst Ohrid Agreement Concerns

Brussels – Undersecretary Bujar Osmani of the Democratic Union for Integration is currently engaged in a two-day working visit to Brussels, focused on addressing concerns surrounding the European Route and the ongoing status of the Ohrid Agreement. The visit, initiated on May 5th, 2026, involves meetings with key representatives across the European landscape. Yesterday’s initial engagements included discussions with Emmanuel Zhiofre, Director for Europe at the European External Action Service (EEAS), and Valentina Superti, Director for the Western Balkans at DG NEAR of the European Commission.

Furthermore, Osmani met with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) Lukas Mandl (AFET) and Ilhan Kyuchyuk, a former rapporteur for North Macedonia. Today, the second day of the visit, Osmani’s schedule remains full, beginning with meetings with Andreja Viher White and Adele Marsullo from [source omitted].
