Cars continue to be the primary imported goods in Kosovo each year, demonstrating consistent and considerable growth. Data reveals a substantial increase in vehicle imports, reaching approximately 651 million euros. In 2025, over 16 percent more vehicles were imported compared to the previous year.
This translates to a significant rise in the volume of trade. Analysis from Open Data – Kosovo Customs, processed by AutoNet, highlights key trends within the import market. Specifically, 44,207 cars were imported in 2025, a notable jump from the 37,954 vehicles brought into the country in 2024.
A key factor driving this growth is the prevalence of used cars. The vast majority of imported cars, accounting for 90%, were used vehicles – a total of 39,877. Only 10% represented new cars, largely due to the more accessible prices of used vehicles.
Market research confirms that diesel-engine cars continue to dominate the import landscape in Kosovo.
