Kosovo Parliament Ratifies Membership in Board of Peace

Kosovo’s Parliament has formally approved the country’s membership in the Board of Peace following a decisive vote. With 103 deputies voting in favor, the agreement was ratified on Tuesday. Chairwoman of the Kosovo Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, confirmed the outcome, stating, “The Parliament approved the ratification of the agreements for Kosovo’s membership in the Board of Peace.”

The vote occurred after the Committee for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora gave its “green light” to the draft law on Monday.

This law formally establishes Kosovo’s inclusion within the Board of Peace. No deputies registered opposition, and there were no abstentions. This development signifies a key step for Kosovo within the international arena.

The Board of Peace is a significant platform for collaborative efforts on global security and stability. The Parliament’s approval solidifies Kosovo’s commitment to participating in these initiatives. The decision underscores the ongoing efforts to integrate Kosovo into broader European structures and strengthens its position as a contributor to international peacebuilding.

Further details regarding the Board of Peace and Kosovo’s role within it will be released in the coming days.
