Police apprehended immigrants along the regional Demir Kapı to Negotin route, and a person was detained.

On March 23, 2026, at 23:30, near the Demir Kapi – Negotinë regional road, close to the area known as “Ostrovo,” officers from the Mihajlov Border Guard Police Station intervened. The operation involved B.E. (29), a resident of Turkey, who was brought to their attention.

Prior to this, during enforcement activities at the “Tremnik” intersection, police had observed multiple people disembarking from a “Skoda Kamik” vehicle registered in Skopje, which B.E. was driving. Following this observation, the vehicle was immediately stopped, and B.E.

was subsequently detained. A thorough search of the surrounding area then revealed the presence of five migrants originating from Egypt. The suspect was escorted to a local police station for further questioning.

The migrants themselves were then transferred to the Vinojug Reception and Transit Center in Gevgelija. The entire incident was meticulously documented by the Mihajlov Border Guard Police Station. Subsequently, a formal complaint will be filed against B.E., as reported by MPB, Telegrafi, and the Bare Chronicle Macedonia.

This action reflects the ongoing efforts of the police to maintain border security and address irregular migration patterns within the region.
