Prime Minister Rama has dismissed another municipal director following the coalition’s alliance with the PDK.

Pristina Municipality Announces Departure of Education Director

Pristina, Kosovo – Following a recent agreement between the ruling coalition and the People’s Democratic Party (PDK), Mayor Perparim Rama has initiated changes within the municipality’s directorates. This shift comes after the dismissal of Samir Shahini, the previous Education Director for the Pristina Municipality. Shahini announced the end of his mandate on his Facebook profile on May 5th, 2026.

He stated that his decision was made by Mayor Rama and that the work undertaken during his tenure was considered unconventional. Shahini expressed gratitude to citizens, colleagues, teachers, and students for their support. This move follows the earlier dismissal of another director, Soko, also under Rama’s leadership.

The changes reflect the evolving dynamics of the coalition government in Pristina. The municipality has not yet released a formal statement regarding the reasons behind the director’s departure. Further details regarding the restructuring of the municipal directorates are expected.

The actions taken by Rama underscore a period of transition and adjustment within the local government.
