Protesters’ message: We have few days left until the time for dialogue with you

During a speech delivered in Parliament, Taulant Balla, the Head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, affirmed the group’s continued commitment to the mandate granted by the citizenry. While expressing readiness to listen to the underlying reasons for the current unrest and engage in reflection, Balla noted that the window for constructive dialogue appears to be narrowing. However, Balla issued a strong condemnation of the violence witnessed during the recent protests.

He specifically highlighted the severity of the attacks, pointing out that three police officers were left seriously injured. He emphasized that Parliament intends to maintain a visible stance against any assaults targeting state uniforms. Addressing the crowd, Balla appealed to the general public to disassociate themselves from the violent elements that, in his view, have become dominant within the demonstrations.

He reassured the public that the parliamentary body would continue to uphold the mandate entrusted to it. “The PS parliamentary group will remain loyal to the vote that brought us to office,” Balla stated. He urged all citizens to remain engaged in the democratic process while maintaining order.

The remarks from Balla underscore a dual message: an openness to dialogue paired with a firm rejection of violence directed at state personnel.
