Rama made a call with his photo, the citizen responds

Citizen Erlis Sina issued a public response on Tuesday following a social media post made by Prime Minister Edi Rama. Sina addressed the use of his photograph, which, according to him, was featured in connection with the civil protests ongoing in Tirana, which have entered their twenty-fourth day. Through a subsequent social media post, the citizen stated that he does not accept being linked to the Prime Minister’s figure.

Furthermore, Sina asserted that Rama bears responsibility for the underlying issues that, in his view, have prompted the public demonstrations. In his reaction, Sina wrote, “Don’t tell me that my photo sees you. I am not you.

I am not the one who has held power for years. I am not the one who signs decisions that change people’s lives.”

This statement follows a previous address by Rama, in which the Prime Minister reportedly addressed the protesters by stating, “I am your friend, not your enemy.”

Sina’s comments represent a clear divergence from the administration’s messaging. By publicly distancing himself from the visual representation used by Rama, the citizen challenged the narrative presented by the government.

The exchange highlights ongoing tensions between political leadership and segments of the citizenry regarding the causes and management of the sustained protests.
