Revocation of street names decision in Tetovë, Qamili: BDI’s partial work, we will find a solution soon

The Deputy Mayor of the Tetova municipality, Albi Qamili, issued a statement following the Constitutional Court’s decision to annul a ruling concerning the naming of streets and squares within Tetova. Qamili characterized the court’s action as another political maneuver, alleging it stems from the BDI. In his remarks, Qamili asserted that the annulment was part of a coordinated effort, which he described as a “tandem” between the BDI and the Constitutional Court.

He claimed that this sequence of events constituted a systematic attempt to negatively impact the political standing of VLEN and the broader Albanian community. According to Qamili, the annulment specifically targeted a decision that had not been put into practice. He further suggested that the composition of the Constitutional Court felt an obligation to the previous governing majority that elected them, leading to decisions perceived as politically favorable to the BDI.

Qamili indicated that the court’s actions were not based on independent legal review but were rather part of a broader political agenda. He concluded by suggesting that the celebration of this specific constitutional decision pointed directly to the influence of the BDI within the judicial process. The statement frames the judicial ruling as a politically motivated work designed to serve the interests of a specific political faction.
