Albanian Council Welcomes Proposed Consulate in Presheva Valley
Enkel Rexhepi, Chairman of the National Council of Albanians of the Presheva Valley, has welcomed the proposal to open a consulate of the Republic of Albania in Bujanoc, describing it as “necessary” to better serve the region’s Albanian residents. Speaking on Klan Kosova’s “InfoMagazine” program, Rexhepi responded to Minister Fatmir Hoxha’s recent request for the consulate’s establishment. Rexhepi emphasized that the initiative is not a new development.
He stated, “As the National Council of Albanians, we welcome Minister Hoxha’s request to open the Albanian consulate in the Presheva Valley.” He highlighted that the Council had previously requested the same action in 2019, alongside the former Albanian Foreign Minister. According to Rexhepi, Minister Hoxha’s renewed attention has brought the matter back to prominence. The proposed consulate aims to provide closer services to the Albanian population residing within the Presheva Valley.
The National Council of Albanians views the establishment of the consulate as a positive step toward strengthening ties and support for the community within the valley.
