A recent survey in Germany reveals that rising prices are prompting many individuals to reduce their spending. According to a poll conducted by Forsa for RTL/ntv broadcasters, 58% of respondents stated they have recently cut back on their daily expenses. Approximately 41% of those surveyed indicated that their spending habits remained largely unchanged.

Younger individuals under 30, as well as families with lower incomes, were more likely to report these reductions. Among those actively trying to save money, 76% indicated they were eating out less frequently, while 69% reported reducing their spending on new purchases and groceries. A significant 65% of respondents stated they were also cutting back on fuel costs.

Consumers are adjusting their budgets across various categories, with 59% reducing energy consumption, 57% limiting holiday spending, and 55% decreasing discretionary spending. These adjustments reflect the impact of elevated prices on household finances.
