Pickleball Plane Crash Claims Five Lives in Texas Hill Country
A small sports plane crashed among trees in the Texas Hill Country region on Monday evening, resulting in the deaths of all six people on board. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the incident occurred around 11:00 PM local time in Wimberley, approximately 40 miles southwest of Austin. The aircraft, carrying pickleball players, was en route to a tournament when it crashed.
Authorities identified the pilot and five passengers who perished in the accident. Official Billy Ray stated that all individuals on board were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were members of the Amarillo Pickleball Club and were traveling to compete in a tournament.
Those identified as deceased are Seren Wilson, Brooke Skypala, Stacy Hedrick, Glen Appling, and Hayde. The cause of the plane crash is currently under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. Further details will be released as they become available.
