Deputeti Rijad Shaqiri voiced vehement criticism regarding the leadership of the Constitutional Court of North Macedonia, alleging irresponsible behavior and a departure from the institution’s constitutional mandate. Shaqiri contends that when an individual operates “by instinct and not with institutional responsibility” leads the Constitutional Court, the interpretation of the Constitution becomes susceptible to arbitrary decisions. He stressed that instead of upholding constitutional order, those entrusted with its protection are, in fact, undermining it.
Shaqiri highlighted a critical juncture: “When the Constitution is not respected by those who have a duty to protect it, anarchy prevails.” The deputy underscored the direct consequence of this failure. Specifically, he argued that the collapse of the rule of law follows inevitably. And when the rule of law diminishes, the ensuing situation is characterized by a lack of order.
Shaqiri’s comments reflect a serious concern about the integrity of the judicial system and the fundamental principles of governance within North Macedonia.
