Student Parliaments at the “Haxhi Zeka” University are organizing a protest to address concerns regarding a recent increase in reported hate speech and persecution targeting the Kosovar people. The planned demonstration is set for July 10th, 2026, at 12:00 PM, and will take place in the city center of Peja, specifically at Sheshin e Qytetit të Pejës. Organizers intend to maximize the size of the protest, aiming for a significant turnout among students, professors, and activists.
The core of the demonstration will focus on objections to what organizers perceive as a crackdown on freedom of speech and the ongoing persecution experienced by Kosovar individuals. Protest materials indicate a central message of concern: “No one is safe. No one is safe from hate speech.
No one is safe from the persecution of the history of Kosovo.” The event is intended to highlight what participants view as a growing threat within the region. Authorities have acknowledged the planned protest and are preparing a response to the situation.
