Technical and security personnel at UP do not receive wages according to the minimum wage.

The University of Prishtina’s technical and security staff are facing a significant issue regarding their compensation. According to reports, these employees are not receiving wages aligned with the minimum wage standard. Gazeta Express News detailed this situation on March 22, 2026, at 9:06, highlighting that despite the minimum wage of 450 euros taking effect in January, implementation has been incomplete.

Economia Online subsequently reported that security and technical personnel at the University of Prishtina remain without wages as dictated by the government’s decision. Yusuf Azemi, the head of the Union of Private Sector Workers, voiced his concerns, stating that action would be taken and he held the rector accountable for the lack of response. Azemi further indicated that he met with Rector Arben Hajrullahu last week to discuss the matter.

However, Hajrullahu reportedly demonstrated no interest in resolving the problem. “Yes, we discussed this issue last week.” The situation underscores the ongoing challenge faced by these workers who are not receiving their legally mandated compensation.
