Albanian Driver Dies in Solothurn Canton Truck Accident
A 50-year-old Albanian driver, identified as Fadil Haliti from the Cyrihut canton, died following a serious accident on the A1 motorway in the Solothurn canton last Friday. The incident occurred shortly before 5:00 am near the Gunzgen North rest area, resulting in a collision involving four vehicles. According to reports from albinfo.ch and blick.ch, the Solothurn canton police responded to an alarm regarding the accident on the motorway’s northbound route towards Bern.
Six individuals sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency services, including helicopters and ambulances, were immediately dispatched to transport the injured to local hospitals. Tragically, Mr.
Haliti succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities confirmed his death, and the motorway was subsequently closed to facilitate the investigation and recovery efforts.
