Albulena Haxhiu, the Speaker of the Kosovo Parliament, honored the 28th anniversary of the Dukagjin Epic in Gllogjan, Decan. She acknowledged the significance of this date, marking 28 years since Gllogjan was encircled. The intention at that time was to extinguish one of our resistance centers.
However, Haxhiu emphasized that the outcome was entirely different. Twenty-eight years ago, Gllogjan was encircled with the specific aim of silencing our resistance center. Yet, precisely the opposite occurred.
The Haradinaj family, alongside other freedom fighters, played a crucial role. Through their combined efforts, they broke the siege and powerfully demonstrated that our struggle for freedom is neither encircled, nor halted, nor broken. It remains a continuous and unwavering commitment.
Today, we commemorate Gazmend Mehmetaj, Agron Mehmetaj, and Him Haradinaj. We remember their sacrifice and dedication, recognizing their contribution to preserving our resistance and securing a future free from oppression. Their actions serve as a lasting testament to the spirit of those who fought for our liberation.
