Two Men Sentenced to Life Imprisonment in Connection with Liridona Ademaj Murder
Pristina, Kosovo – Two individuals have been sentenced to life imprisonment following the conviction for the murder of Liridona Ademaj, which took place on November 29, 2023. The sentencing occurred at the Basic Court in Pristina on Monday, presided over by Judge Fatime Dermaku. Naim Murseli, the victim’s husband, and Granit Plava were both sentenced to life imprisonment.
Kushtrim Kokalla received a sentence of 30 years in prison. The court found Murseli and Plava guilty of aggravated murder, aligning with Article 364 of the relevant criminal code. Judge Dermaku detailed that Kokalla was convicted of “assistance in the commission of a criminal offense” and “aggravated murder.” The incident occurred in front of Ademaj’s children, aged four and six at the time.
The prosecution presented evidence indicating a coordinated effort in the commission of the crime. Legal proceedings concluded with the court’s determination of guilt and the imposition of the maximum sentences for the offenses. No further statements were available from the defendants.
