The implementation of the Law on Foreigners commenced today in Kosovo, introducing revised regulations concerning the duration of stays for foreign nationals and the operation of vehicles bearing foreign registrations within the nation. Under the updated legislation, individuals lacking Kosovar documentation will now require a specific residence permit for their stay. Similarly, vehicles with foreign license plates are subject to restrictions, prohibited from circulating throughout Kosovo’s territory for periods exceeding three months, or solely through authorized permits.

Authorities have confirmed that the new law incorporates supplementary measures for the registration of residents within Kosovo. In certain circumstances, temporary residence permits of up to twelve months may be issued to those without Kosovar identification. Foreign citizens arriving in Kosovo are obligated to declare their address using the newly established application, adhering to the provided instructions and accompanying brochures.
