The incident in Banjska: This is half a criminal, heads of the attack must be brought before justice.

Court Sentences Three in Death of Kosovo Police Officer Bunjaku

The Basic Court of Pristina today delivered life sentences to Blagoje Spasojeviqi and Vladimir Toliqin, and a 30-year sentence to Dushan Maksimoviq, in connection with the death of Kosovo police officer Afrim Bunjaku. Arianit Koci, the lawyer representing Bunjaku, commented on the ruling, stating that it represents “half of justice.”

Koci argued that the current sentences do not encompass the full scope of accountability for the September 24, 2023, attack. He believes that further legal action is necessary to prosecute the organizers and other individuals involved in the aggression against the state of Kosovo.

“Until the heads or organizers of this terrorist attack appear before justice, this is half justice,” Koci stated. He expressed satisfaction with the court’s adherence to procedural rights afforded to the accused. While acknowledging the positive outcome of the sentencing, Koci emphasized the continued need for a comprehensive investigation and prosecution to ensure complete justice for the victim and uphold the rule of law within Kosovo.

The court’s decision marks a significant step, but the legal process remains ongoing.
