Kosovo Judicial Council Meeting Postponed Due to Member Absence

Pristina, Kosovo – A meeting of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) was unsuccessful today, Monday, due to the absence of one member. The meeting’s purpose was to elect a new chairman for the Council. Deputy Chairman Arjeta Sadiku adjourned the meeting following notification from Judge Besnik Bislimi.

According to a statement released by Sadiku, Bislimi informed the Council via email that he “cannot participate until April 24th due to health reasons he cannot participate in any activity.”

Consequently, the scheduled meeting was cancelled. Sadiku formally closed the meeting, stating, “We have received an email from Judge Besnik Bislimi who cannot participate until April 24th due to health reasons he cannot participate in any activity, therefore today’s meeting cannot be held. Does anyone have anything to discuss?

If not, then I consider the meeting closed. Thank you for your attendance.”

The KJC has not announced a rescheduled date for the election of the chairman. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

The Council’s proceedings were halted due to the unforeseen circumstances.
