The Ministry of Interior has released new details concerning the arrest of director Vase Anakiev. The State Prosecution has issued updated details concerning the detention of Vase Anakiev, the Director of the Agricultural Inspectorate, as detailed by Telegrafi Macedonia. On March 20, 2026, officers from the Anti-Corruption Unit, part of the Criminal Investigation Sector within the Department for Combating Organized and Serious Crime, took V.A. (41) into custody from Koçani.

A criminal charge was formally presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office against him, alleging the offense of ‘bribery’ as defined in Article 357 of the Criminal Code. The MPB’s statement indicates that V.A., while serving as Director of the State Agricultural Inspectorate, aimed to acquire unauthorized personal gain through a business engaged in importing goods. Specifically, he attempted to secure a 100,000 euro bribe through a shipping company, with the intention of achieving this illicit objective.

This new information follows the arrest.
