South Mitrovica Announces First-Grade Registration for 2026/27 School Year
The Municipality of South Mitrovica has announced the commencement of registration for students entering first grade during the 2026/27 academic year. Registration will be open from May 15th, 2026, through June 15th, 2026, across all elementary schools within the municipality of Mitrovica. The process will be conducted in accordance with Administrative Instruction No.
09/2023 issued by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MAShTI) specifically for the registration of first-grade students. To be eligible for registration, a child must turn six (6) years old. However, registration before this age is possible under exceptional circumstances.
This requires a formal assessment and recommendation from a designated professional team comprised of a psychologist, pedagogue, and support teacher, as determined by each school. The Municipality emphasized that this registration process is a key step in ensuring all children in Mitrovica have access to primary education.
