The oil price regulation will continue for another 30 days

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation (MINTI) has announced an extension of the temporary maximum price regulation governing petroleum products for an another period of 30 days. This measure is designed to safeguard consumers and maintain affordable prices across the domestic market. The decision follows ongoing monitoring of the market and a detailed analysis of data provided by the Kosovo Customs.

These analyses indicated that the current trends for imported derivatives have not shown a consistent downward trajectory. MINTI noted that while fluctuations in international markets often result in rapid price increases being reflected domestically, price decreases are not always fully transmitted or are subject to delays within the local market structure. To ensure price stability during this period, the Ministry clarified the operational mechanism of the extension.

Under the revised framework, the maximum wholesale selling price will be calculated using the average supply price data recorded by the Kosovo Customs. This continued oversight aims to mitigate potential volatility and provide predictability for both consumers and businesses relying on petroleum products. The extension underscores the Ministry’s commitment to intervening in the market mechanisms to prevent significant inflationary pressures while awaiting clearer signals regarding international commodity pricing trends.

The continuation of this specific price ceiling regulation will remain in effect for the specified additional 30-day term.
