A distressing event unfolded this morning in Gjakova’s Old Bazaar. Two people were victims of a firearm attack, resulting in significant harm. Tragically, one of the individuals succumbed to their injuries.
The other patient, severely wounded, was quickly transported to the “Isa Grezda” Hospital in Gjakova around 05:20. He immediately presented himself to the emergency department, where a thorough examination was undertaken by the medical team. Dr.
Ilir Hasanaj, the head of Emergency services, confirmed the patient’s condition is currently stable. “We received a seriously injured patient following a gunshot incident,” Dr. Hasanaj explained.
“He was promptly admitted to the emergency department and all necessary assessments were completed.”
The injured individual is now receiving care in the hospital’s orthopedics unit, undergoing further treatment to address his wounds. Dr. Hasanaj stated that the patient’s condition remains stable at this time.
The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack in Gjakova.
